2014-2015 ITBS standardized test results (K-8)

Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) is a top-rated, nationally standardized test designed to evaluate thinking skills. The following graphs and charts show how Al-Salam Day School students (KG-8) performed on their ITBS tests during the 204-2015 school year.

IOWA test results are in and we’re excited by our students’ progress this year!ADS started the 2014-2015 school year at 62.4 percentile. Spring IOWA test results show ADS studentscores increased to a 77.4 percentile. That is a 15 percent rise from the beginning to the end of the year, alhamdulillah.

Keep in mind that this is a norm based test. A score of 75 percentile does not mean the students are struggling with a quarter of the subject matter. It means, as a whole, ADS performed in the top 25 percentile of the nation.

The chart above shows how students performed in the fall of 2013 (first bar from left) versus the spring of 2014 (second bar from left), as well as the fall of 2014 (third bar from left) and the spring of 2015 (fourth bar from left). The categories show how students performed in reading, language, math (and the CORE total for these subjects, as well as science, social studies, sources of information, and the composite for all subjects. The ADS science score has gone up the most, by far. For this year, the science score increase by 20% (wow!) from fall until spring and, at 85%, is the highest score in comparison to all subjects.

Students take the test in the fall and then again in the spring to show student progress in all subject areas. If you haven’t received your child’s individual test results, please visit the ADS main office and request a copy.
